Planning Final: Displaying Developments.
When chosing my space, I decided this corner would be best suited for my work. I decided to hang up my first large pour in the corner, but due to the angle of the wall, I had to attach two screws onto the wall and use string to hang it up. I find the string adds to the organic raw feel which my piece conveys.
First I planned to hang the metal plates from chain, which I brought and cut into lengths which I was going to susspend around the canvas. Below is a photo of what I thought would create an atmosphere by using the membrane. I then attached a length of light chain to fishing wire and nailed it and used blu tack to create the below composition.

Above is a photo of what I planned to do when presenting my work. I changed out the chains to using clear thread, as I found that when its hung up ones eyes were drew to the chain and the light reflecting off it.
Above is a photo of my inital idea on how to present my metal plates, I've changed my mind and now decided to use clear thread to try and get the illusion of floating, similar to the feelings of being high and weightless. Whereas the chains give the idea of being weighed down and grounded, similar to being sober.
Upon reflection, I decided to change where I presented by final piece. I found the white background contrasted the dark theme of addiction and so I wanted to present my work against a black backdrop. This room above is where I chose to present my work. This space gives me enough room to hang my work and project onto it. Which wouldnt have been possible before.
There were some inperfectons on the wall which I painted over using black acrylic to create a uniform black background.
